Weathering the Storm: How to Survive Stressful Times Together

Love & Personals – Change happens continually and most of the time unpredictably. Marriages, if they are to last, have to change as well. Most of us don't handle it that well and the result is the amazingly high rate of divorce.

How often do you get mad at yourself and try to blame everyone else around you? That's my biggest weakness... If I'm feeling guilty - it has to be someone else's fault :-(

What do you blame on everyone else that you know down deep is really your fault?

Yes, I think blame is a big problem in a relationship.

It's all about flexibility . Being able to admit ones fault and move on . But if the other half can't let go , now you have a little guilt to carry around . Which can lead to resentment and other nasties .

There are, I think, 18 things that you have to know both about yourself and the other to base a solid relationship on:

1. The top six hopes and dreams of each other. This tells you about the future. Getting less than 70% of anyone of them is a problem!

2. The top six fears. These tell you what buttons not to push and areas to be respectful of in managing the relationship.

3. The top six sexual fantasies. These are part of the glue that lets you into the more exotic aspects of eaxh other. Of the top six of each person you can probably do three each; the others being too dangerous or too illegal to invest in beyond talk! There are realities!

If you really know these 18 things about each other you just topped 90% of relationships!
